About Our Childcare in Wilson, NC

Our Approach

We provide a stimulating environment and fun experiences that encourage children to become independent, self-confident and enthusiastic learners. By using the Montessori method, we are able to develop a safe and positive classroom with self-correcting materials and activities that encourage the development of social skills, emotional growth, concentrations, physical coordination, and cognitive education.

The Montessori Method

The Montessori approach was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907. Dr. Montessori incorporated her knowledge of the absorbent mind and the need for proper environmental stimulation into many specially designed materials that would allow children an opportunity to work with their hands and discover learning at their own pace, something that was not normally allowed in the typical classroom setting.

Our classrooms, in accordance with Montessori ideals, are designed to create natural opportunities for independence, exploration, and accountability and allow children to embrace multi-sensory learning. Due to this freedom to explore, question, and make connections, students at Building Blocks are able to become confident, inquisitive, and enthusiastic learners ready to be successful at school and beyond.

Quality Education & Care

  • CURRICULUM

The approach to learning weaves in all developmental domains and focuses on building a child’s curiosity, persistence, attention and overall communication skills.

  • EDUCATORS

Our experienced staff members are enthusiastic, loving, and dedicated to providing the best possible education for your child. All of our teachers are certified in CPR and First Aid, and their top priority is creating a safe and positive environment for all of our students.

  • COMMUNICATION

We strive to create a partnership with parents, and use the Tadpoles app to keep family members updated. Our teachers will update Tadpoles with information and pictures of your child throughout the day, so you will always know what your child is doing.

  • NUTRITION

We know that nutrition is an important factor in a child’s development, and all of our meals meet USDA nutritional recommendations. Our menus are designed to give children the familiar foods they love, as well as introduce them to new ones.
